Fran Carr

Film Team Co-ordinator

 

Fran is a graduate of Manchester School of Art, where she studied Filmmaking. Since leaving university she has been working in production. Her first role was in commercials for Chief Productions.   She then moved over to Film, working closely with producer Loran Dunn at Delaval Film as a Production Manager on the 2018 ShortFlix Films, 5 short films which were part of a talent development scheme funded by Creative England in partnership with Sky Arts. Subsequently Fran production managed Delaval Films' first feature length project, the documentary A Deal With The Universe directed by Jason Barker, which premiered at BFI Flare, London's LGBTQ+ Film Festival, in 2018.

Alongside her work in production, Fran has been a teaching assistant on the BA Filmmaking programme at Manchester School of Art, helping  students develop their ideas and plan the production of the their short films. In 2017 she won the Deutsche Bank Prize for Creative Enterprise together with filmmaker Danielle Swindells, and the two are currently working on a short documentary project.

Having joined the Film team in September 2018, Fran is looking forward to expanding her network, meeting all the talented filmmakers both in UK and internationally that the British Council supports, and helping promote film to audiences all round the world.
