Film Programme Manager - Festivals
Rowan Woods joined the team in October 2018 as Film Programme Manager, Festivals. She leads on finding and screening new UK features annually to the world’s premier international film festival selectors including those from TIFF, Sundance, Cannes, Venice and Berlin.
Before joining the British Council, Rowan was a Development Executive with BBC Films, where she worked across projects including Peter Strickland’s In Fabric, Joanna Hogg’s The Souvenir, Hong Khaou’s Monsoon, Orlando von Einsiedel’s Evelyn and the iFeatures and Microwave slates.
Alongside her role at the BBC, Rowan also worked as independent curator and programmer for the East End Film Festival. Prior to this Rowan worked on many of the BBC’s key film programmes including the Kermode & Mayo’s Film Review and on the BFI London Film Festival.
She will continue to work as a curator and consultant alongside her role at the British Council.
