Synopsis

A young city girl, Jagoda, visits her extended family living in the Balkan Mountains, high above the Adriatic Sea. Her relatives inhabit abandoned villages, recently separated by the newly formed borders brought about by the breakup of Yugoslavia. The story unfolds in a recently fragmented space and this is mirrored in the narrative structure of the film, which is split in two halves and an epilogue. Jagoda, creates a connection between two families divided by the border and, through her character, both stories merge into an organic whole. Her ghostly presence brings love and hope, which helps her cousins to face their own problems and to find peace and reconciliation in an increasingly divided world. http://www.kviff.com/en/film-professionals/book-of-projects/works-in-progress/2016
