British Council's Film team is thrilled to announce that award-winning actor Don Warrington has agreed to be an ambassador for Shakespeare Lives in Film.
Don will travel to Trinidad+Tobago Film Festival from 21-25 September to introduce the filmed version of his epic King Lear and conduct a series of workshops with local students.
Don can currently be seen in the BBC’s Death in Paradise and is well-known to audiences for his role in 1970s British sitcom, Rising Damp.
The film version of the Michael Buffong-directed Talawa and Royal Exchange theatre production, in association with Birmingham Repertory Theatre, is funded by digital commissioning body The Space, with support from the British Council as part of Shakespeare Lives with the aim of showcasing this powerful production to international audiences.
