To Russia with love: 17th New British Film Festival

British Council is partnering Cool Connections again this year to bring a fantastic selection of features to Russia for our 17th edition of our ever popular New British Film Festival.

The full programme will screen in Moscow from 26 October to 6 November, during which time a selection of titles till also tour around Russia to 18 other cities: St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Kazan, Nizhniy Novgorod, Perm, Irkutsk, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Stavropol, Saratov, Krasnoyarsk, Kaliningrad, Ekaterinburg, Ufa, Volgograd, Voronezh and Vladivostok.

Highlights include 2016 Cannes Palme d'Or winner I, Daniel Blake which will be presented by the film's screenwriter and long-time collaborator Paul Laverty, award-winning debut feature Adult Life Skills with director Rachel Tunnard in attendance and comedy The Carer starring the great Scottish actor Brian Cox whom we are delighted to say will be there too. Other films screening include Versus: The Life and Films of Ken Loach; War On Everyone; The Levelling; Anthropoid; Away; Burn,Burn Burn, The Confession and Oasis: Supersonic.
As part of our festival we are also in partnership with Moscow Film School to present the TALKS educational programme – a series of lectures, discussions and screenings devoted to new trends in the international film industry, with the participation of Russian and British actors, directors, screenwriters and film experts.
For this edition our honoured UK guests will be sharing their exceptional expertise in three talks:
