Bringing the best to Ukraine
10th November - 12th December 2016
For 16 years we have been bringing the best and most exciting new UK cinema to Ukraine in an annual New British Film Festival, celebrating UK talent and creativity through a diverse programme of feature films, documentaries and short films.
This year’s programme, developed in partnership with Arthouse Traffic, brings another exciting line up of films which will be screened in Kyiv from 10-16 November and then travel onto Kharkiv, Mariupol, Lviv, Odessa and Dnipro, finishing its tour on 12 December.
The Festival opens with this year’s Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or winner, Ken Loach’s I, Daniel Blake. The programme will also feature a documentary about the great man himself, Versus: The Life and Films of Ken Loach. Other films in the programme include American Honey; War on Everyone and This Beautiful Fantastic. Another highlight of the programme is The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976), a homage to legendary musician and actor David Bowie who died earlier this year. The festival will also screen BAFTA shorts - a selection of the UK’s best new short films nominated by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).
