Applications open for EFP Producers on the Move at Cannes 2017
19th May - 23rd May 2017
Applications due Monday 20 March (noon GMT) to British Council.
The British Council is seeking applications to be the UK nomination for EFP Producers On The Move programme at the Cannes Film Festival 2017. The deadline for applications to the British Council is strictly noon UK time on Monday 20 March.
We are looking for applications from producers who are developing a fiction feature (live action or animation) and the following need to be sent, along with an application form:
- Letter of motivation, i.e. what you would hope to gain from the scheme and why you would like to take part
- Project description of the film in development / financing – including synopsis and director statement (if director attached)
- Finance plan for this project
To be eligible you must have experience in at least one international feature length co-production (documentary or feature). If you have been the majority producer in more than three productions, then you are considered to be too experienced to be part of the programme.
Applications to be the UK nominated producer will be assessed by the British Council’s Film team both against the scoring criteria set out in the attached application form, and on the potential of the submitted project for international co-production which will also be scored as part of this stage of the assessment.
Once the UK nomination has been submitted for consideration to EFP, twenty of the nominated producers from across Europe will be accepted onto the scheme. The programme will take place during the Cannes Film Festival and the proposed dates are 19-23 May 2017.
Please note that the British Council / EFP do not cover travel and accommodation expenses for the producers who take part in the programme.
Requests for application forms should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
