New UK cinema comes to Armenia
18th February - 24th February 2017
Seven great British films are headed to Armenia, and two British experts will deliver workshops.
The British Council in partnership with the British Embassy Yerevan and Beeline in Armenia is organising the 15th Anniversary Edition of the British Film Festival from 18 to 24 February. Ken Loach's Palme D'Or and BAFTA winner I, Daniel Blake will open the British Film Festival on 18 February at 16.30 at Moscow Cinema.
Seven films in total will be screened during the festival; other titles featured include Sing Street, Adult Life Skills and Notes On Blindness. Our British Film Festival showcases the talents of emerging filmmakers alongside established masters, offering viewers some of the best new work in the contemporary UK cinema in all genres ranging from comedy and psychological drama to documentary on a variety of topics: music, social problems, family relations, and, of course, love.
This year the Film Festival will also offer two workshops. The first, delivered by Sarah Mosses of Together Films, will focus on impact strategies for filmmakers who wish to use their work to raise awareness of human rights. The second, led by Caroline Pires, will teach young filmmakers how to create incredible VFX in their films.
