BLOG: Last chance to join us at BAFTA's Filmmaker's Market

Sat 13 July | BAFTA, 195 Piccadilly, London

We have 5 passes exclusively for @British_Film Twitter followers to win for our Festivals session at BAFTA's celebrated Filmmaker’s Market. A packed day of masterclasses, screenings and advice sessions to help filmmakers improve creative and business skills as they move towards making their first feature, the day is supported by Sargent-Disc.

As temperatures rise tomorrow - Saturday 13 July - we'll be spending the day in the cool of BAFTA's HQ in the heart of London, taking part in an all-day Filmmaker's Market. If you're not already registered - and you're one of our rapidly growing Twitter following, now's your chance to grab a final ticket!

What? Where? When?
Sargent-Disc BAFTA Filmmakers' Market is designed for emerging film talent, and offers a full day of screenings, seminars and masterclasses each hosted by one of the industry's key players. Main sessions are all ticketed individually at £6, and many are already rammed to the rafters - but once you have made your session selection you also get to enjoy free screenings, networking drinks, and the chance to book a free Speed Surgery. The whole thing runs from 11am-7.30pm and you can get the full skinny on the complete programme here.

British Council Film heads to the Market too
The entire industry seems to be participating and of course we'll be there too - talking about our favourite subject: festivals!  Our exclusive session invites you to MEET THE FESTIVAL PROGRAMMERS. For it, our Director of Film, Briony Hanson, has handpicked some of the UK’s key festivals - big, small, niche and mainstream - and will be putting them through their paces to find out what it is they look for in a film, what they like and don’t like when receiving submissions, and what they think makes a filmmaker stand out (for the right reasons!) when visiting a festival.

The Speaker line-up for our event has all bases covered and includes:

Kate Gerova (Director, Bird’s Eye View Festival)
Michael Blyth (Programmer, London Film Festival)
Louis Savy (Director, Sci-Fi-London Film Festival)
Emma Smart (Programmer, London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival)
Philip Ilson (Director, London Short Film Festival)
Ian Francis (Director, Flatpack Festival)
Tom Vincent (Co-Director, Bradford International Film Festival)

It's all happening from 12.45–13.45 on Saturday 13 July - that's tomorrow!

Youy can win one of 5 FREE passes to our British Council session to Meet The Festival Programmers. To bag one all you have to do is retweet us - check @British_Film for updates!

[Terms & Conditions: Winners will be notified by Twitter. Each pass is valid for one person only. All winners will be randomly selected & decisions are final. Passes cannot be exchanged for cash and we cannot meet your travel costs to attend. This pass will not give access to other paid sessions.]
