Synopsis

1554. The young Queen Elizabeth inherits a country wracked by internal religious conflict after years of divisive rule from her father Henry VIII, then her zealous Catholic half-sister, Mary. But in a few short years, she overcomes internal conspiracy, assassination attempts and formidable pressure from abroad to emerge as Europe's most powerful monarch.
