Synopsis

In 2015 the so-called 'migrant crisis' shook Europe to the core. Three years on, it is not yet over.
This feature documentary shot in 2015-16 on the overland route through Europe, tackles the dominant theme of our age, but it does so with a fresh and raw approach. Eschewing polemic and hyperbole, the film weaves its music of images to the soaring maqaams of Iraqi saxophonist Amar Alaw, in search of something more intimate and more universal. Forget about the rhetoric and the headlines. Shorn of subtitles, explanations and commentary, what you will witness in this film you will recognise for yourself, because it is the most basic dream and desperation common to all humanity: to journey on, to survive adversity. To strive for better things.
