Labs Travel Grant

British Council Film and BFI NETWORK are excited to announce the launch of a new travel grant scheme for new and emerging filmmakers, specifically for international training labs.
The scheme is designed to support filmmakers looking to develop skill-sets and networks internationally, and priority is given to those who are yet to make (or developing) their first feature. There is also a provision for filmmakers who are established feature filmmakers.
In 2019-2020, the scheme will run as a pilot programme, focussing on 8 training labs. The fund will offer bursaries to contribute towards the cost of course fees, travel and accommodation.
The Labs currently on our Key Labs List are:
- Ace Producers Lab
- EAVE Labs
- Rotterdam IFFR Lab
- Sam Spiegel Lab
- Sundance Directors Lab
- Torino Film Labs
- Venice Biennale College Cinema Labs
- Zurich Masterclass Lab
Please note, grants are limited to one per person or project. As 2019-2020 will be pilot year for the fund, we are keen to hear from filmmakers who have had positive experiences at labs and international development courses. If you want to suggest a lab for the list then please let us know by email why we should consider it. Please remember that professional development and potential for exposure on the international stage are key factors in our decision making.
