Established in the early 1990s Artangel commissions and produces new works from contemporary artists using a different types of media. The organisation has commissioned films such as The Arbor by Clio Barnard and Exodus by Penny Woolcock.
Artsadmin discovers new artists and creates opportunities to support artists at different stages of their careers. Artsadmin has a development bursary scheme to enable artists to develop themselves and their work over one year.
Animate Projects producs and curates projects across animation, film and art, working in collaboration with a range of partners, in a variety of contexts – engaging audiences in the gallery, cinema, museum, public spaces, online and through broadcast.
Arts Council England
ACE welcomes and supports proposals for funding from artists working in the moving image. The 'Grants for the Arts' programme is for activities carried out over a set period which engage people in England in arts activities, and help artists and arts organisations in England carry out their work.'Grants for the Arts' is funded by the National Lottery.

Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival
BFMAF is an international celebration of the art of film. With ambitious programming including film premieres, moving image installations and live performance, the annual Festival spans 12 locations across its walled, Scotland/England border-town home of Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Film and Video Umbrella
Film and Video Umbrella commissions, curates, produces and presents film, video and other moving-image works by artists that are staged in collaboration with galleries and other cultural partners across the UK.
FLAMIN (Film London Artists Moving Image Network)
FLAMIN supports London-based artists using the moving image in their work. The Network in partnership with other organisations helps artists engage with wide range of resources and opportunities including the funding the creation of new works, mentoring, events, residencies, workshops amongst many other activities.
Flamin runs the annual Jarman Award, which recognises and supports artists working with moving image and celebrates the spirit of experimentation, imagination and innovation in the work of emerging artist filmmakers. The Award is inspired by visionary filmmaker Derek Jarman.
BFI London Film Festival: Experimenta
The festival programmes new short and feature length experimental films through its “Experimenta” section. The section also includes talks and workshops about experimental films.
LUX is an international arts agency for the support and promotion of artists’ moving image practice and the ideas that surround it. LUX exists to provide access to, and develop audiences for, artists' moving image work; to provide professional development support for artists working with the moving image; and to contribute to and develop discourse around practice.
PoetryFilm is a research art project and screening series founded in 2002 by Zata Banks, to celebrate experimental text/image/sound artworks and performance material, and to explore semiotics and meaning-making within the art form. Since 2002, 90 events have been produced and curated, both in the UK and overseas. The PoetryFilm Archive contains over 1,000 films, and a special 100th PoetryFilm screening will take place in 2016.
