Synopsis

Drama about the iconic Russian ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev, focusing on one of the most important incidents in his life- his defection from the Soviet Union to the West in 1961. Nureyev's Parisian friend Clara Saint helped choreograph her friend’s defection, despite KGB efforts to stop him. The story's finale traces the dramatic day of the defection, climaxing at Le Bourget airport in Paris.
The volatile former Royal Ballet star was both world famous and infamous. His stage partners included Margot Fonteyn and Yvette Chauviré.
