GREAT 8
Our Great 8 showcase champions eight new talents at Cannes Film Festival each year.
2026 GREAT 8 selection
Each year we champion eight new UK projects from eight new voices at the Cannes Film Festival at the moment when each is putting the finishing touches to their new feature film.
Each selection is revealed in an online showcase of previously unseen footage screening exclusively to buyers and festival programmers at the Cannes Marche.
Now in its ninth year, the 2026 GREAT 8 showcase is funded and produced by the BFI and the British Council, with support from BBC Film and Film4.
The films and filmmakers in the 2026 GREAT 8 selection are:
- Ancestors, director/writer David Turpin
- Black Church Bay, director/writer Rhys Marc Jones
- Daughter of Eden, director/writer Fateme Ahmadi
