Rotterdam Lab 2021

In 2021, the acclaimed Rotterdam Lab is preparing to head online for an extended edition to its programme, providing an invaluable training workshop to up and coming producers. With funding from our Lab Travel Grant scheme, offered in partnership with BFI NETWORK, we are offering two emerging producers the chance to take part.

With around 70 producers from all over the world attending the online sessions, this will be an opportunity to connect with the international film industry, network with other emerging producers, and develop a project.

UPDATE: The 21st edition of the Rotterdam Lab will take place from January 25th to February 5th. (These dates have recently changed)

What are we looking for?

We're now looking for two emerging producers from across the UK to take part. These could either be independent producers with their own companies, or junior producers working for a production company. Candidates should have produced at least one short film, and no more than two feature films. They should have the ambition to either co-produce or work internationally.

Participants will learn about topics including

• New developments in the international industry
• The logistics of international co- production
• Sales and distribution
• Funding and development

How to apply ?

After this call out through Rotterdam CineMart’s partnering organisations (British Council's Film department is the UK partner), a selection of applicants will then be nominated to the CineMart judging committee, who will then select the final candidates. We're looking for the best emerging production talent in the UK and there will be up to two UK participants selected for the programme.
