The Changing Face of Europe at Hot Docs

Putting a focus on outstanding new documentary productions from Europe, the work of selected European filmmakers is presented at a dedicated section of the Hot Docs Festival in Toronto every April/May.

The showcase focuses on the diversity of European films and particularly those exploring contemporary topics such as immigration and the rise of populism to economic anxiety.

Filmmakers selected for the programme present their work and also participate in workshops, pitches and meetings with potential buyers.

Eligibility

Films must:

• be a UK production or co-production
• not have had a Canadian premiere.

Our UK nominee in 2019 was Jeanie Finlay who presented Seahorse: The Dad Who Gave Birth.
