The Taste of Mango
Directed by Chloe Abrahams
A mother’s dream and a daughter’s beckoning - a love letter flowing through time, tenderly untangling knots in a family's unspoken past. Searching for answers that her mother and grandmother often brush aside, Chloe traces the reaches and limits of familial love.
Dalton's Dream
Directed by Kim Longinotto
In December 2018, a young pansexual man from the slums of Jamaica became the first non-British and black man to win the UK X-Factor and a million-pound album deal that promised to change his life forever. Filmed over two years, this documentary follows 24-year-old Dalton Harris as he searches for fame, love and acceptance and tries to capitalise on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to achieve his dream.
The Veiled City
Directed by Natalie Cubides-Brady
A sci-fi city symphony inspired by London’s Great Smog of 1952. Created from archive footage, the film unfolds through fictional letters from a post-apocalyptic future. The film invites us to understand the smog in the context of the present-day climate emergency and our global destiny.
Red Soil
Directed by Joshua Ighodaro
Exploring burial traditions as old as the Benin Kingdom, RED SOIL follows the family of Mama, a beloved Nigerian elder, as they prepare for her funeral. Following custom, the film offers an insight into the Edo State’s perspective on death. Over the course of three days, observing pilgrimage, music, prayer and dance, the film suggests a different form of mourning: a collective celebration of Life.
